They are committed to ensuring that Bournville and Cotteridge continue to be strong communities and great places to live, learn, bring up a family and grow old with dignity.

About Liz Clements

Liz has lived in Bournville since 2002. She has spent her career working in the public and voluntary sectors. Liz is passionate about education. Good state education changed her life and wants all children in our community to be able to reach their full potential, wherever their ambitions may lead them.

Liz has served as a councillor in Oxford and Birmingham; and took a leading role in Bournville Labour’s campaign in the EU referendum, and is proud that Bournville voted to stay in the EU. While Liz recognises that referendum result nationally voted to leave, she will continue to campaign for a Brexit which prioritises jobs, our economic prosperity and our West Midlands manufacturing base, and which protects human and civil rights, the environment, and our rights at work.

About Fred Grindrod

Fred is an experienced campaigner, trade unionist and community advocate. He has worked in industry, for charities and for government organisations. Fred lives in Bournville and is married to Jo, a teacher. He has two children who attend a local primary school.

Fred believes that only a Labour Council will truly deliver for Bournville . He is standing in this election because he knows that only Labour has the policies and commitment to build a fairer city, defend public services, protect our local environment and ensure that working people have decent, secure jobs.

Campaigning for our Communities

Liz and Fred will fight to ensure that everyone in Bournville and Cotteridge is able to enjoy a decent quality of life. Local residents are proud of the fact that Bournville and Cotteridge are great places to live. However all too often people have shared their concerns about the impact of cuts to local services and their worry about the pressure on families and young people in our community.

If elected as Labour Councillors for Bournville and Cotteridge, Liz and Fred will do all they can to campaign and defend our area and ensure that we continue to build a strong and sustainable future for our community.
